Meet our 2024 Scholarship winners!

We’re thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s third SDF x VDEF Scholarship: Chivano de Mee, Noor Jayani, and Chanel Onyeike! Each of them will receive a €5,000 scholarship, along with a personalized coaching program from Jocelyn Bergland, Drosha Grekhov, and Niek Traa, who will support them in taking their next steps toward a professional dance career over the coming year.

The audition weekend took place on November 9-10 at Het Talentenhuis in Amsterdam. Over 30 talented dancers participated in workshops led by Nedda Sou, Hit Master Fish, Kelly Bigirindavyi, and Tim Kromhout. After careful deliberation, the jury—consisting of Ton Steenvoorden, Skychief, and John Agesilas—selected these three winners.

Chanel, a 20-year-old hip-hop dancer, has been dancing for over 15 years. She hopes the scholarship will help her rebuild her confidence and fuel her personal growth as an artist. 23-year-old Noor, who has trained in various hip-hop styles throughout her life, sees this opportunity as a chance to dive deeper into her artistic journey and continue learning. Meanwhile, 25-year-old Chivano plans to use the scholarship to travel to China in search of his heritage and to further his development through battles and workshops, elevating his skills to new heights.
