What we do

Every year during the first weekend of February, we organize the intimate SDF Weekender where enthusiasts immerse themselves in house and club culture for a long weekend of performances, battles, clubnights and workshops. This is the birthplace of Summer Dance Forever back in 2009.

Dancers from around the world gather in the city of Amsterdam each year in August. Seven days to enjoy an international dance feast, packed with the best of today and the great promises of tomorrow. Organized in several venues around town, expect a great variety of dance performances, next level battles and workshops to refresh and boost your skills. A true summer in one of Europe’s hottest cities, soaked in dance, to be remembered forever. Forever…and ever…and ever…

Since 2020 Summer Dance Forever brings the battles to dance-lovers all over the world. From the comfort of their homes and devices they can watch the battles for free up to the quarter finals (judge battles). For the finals you need to buy a livestream ticket. 

In collaboration with several Japanese dancers, SDF has been organizing Forever Japan for several years. Specifically aimed at an Asian audience and participants, the event offers workshops and battles following the Forever format. It fosters substantive exchanges between Europe and Asia, increasing SDF recognition among Asian dancers and also significantly contributing to the development of dance styles in Europe.

SDF established the first scholarship for talented young hiphop dancers from the Netherlands, in collaboration with the VandenEnde foundation. Every year three dancers are selected to receive a scholarship of €5,000 and guidance from a coach to execute their plans. The scholarship offers young dancers a unique opportunity to artistically develop in a way that aligns with their worldview and culture.
